The 2006 West Coast Pro Mod Association Champion Joe Delehay and his championship winning PM Motorsports team are on their way to Castrol Raceway this weekend for the IHRA Rocky Mountain Nationals in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

Just last weekend Joe and the team were in Mission, BC for the EATON presented:”Fast and Furious on the Fraser” for the second West Coast Pro Mod Association event of the season. Delehay qualified number 5 in the 16 car field with a 6.203 @ 224.21 mph only to exit early in the second round of eliminations after running his career best et and mph previously in the first round of eliminations with a 6.190 @ 232.93 mph. “We ran the best pass in my career with this new car” said Delehay, “We don’t even have ten full passes on the car yet”.

With the tune up on the car getting closer the team is expecting to run even better this weekend at the Rocky Mountain nationals which will also be the team’s first IHRA event with the new Tim McAmis Race Cars built 1968 Camaro Z-28. “We used the first West Coast Pro Mod events as test seasons to get the car prepared for the Rocky Mountain Nationals” say Crew Chief Ken Eisler. “If the car runs as well as expected then we might take the car to a couple more IHRA events”.

Joe Delehay has marked the Rocky Mountain Nationals every year on his calendar since it the very first year the IHRA came out to Western Canada. “It’s important to support this event” says Delehay, “If we can get more events like this in Western Canada then more teams would be willing to make the long drive from the United States and attend the Western events”.
