The
2006 season saw allot of changes for the PM Motorsports team. After
a career of racing nothing but Chevy pickup trucks, Joe Delehay
decided it was time to switch to a car for the 2006 season. "We
pushed the truck to its limits" said Joe, "It's just not
aerodynamic enough to be competitive". PM Motorsports purchased
a 2001 Viper to race the 2006 WCPMA circuit until their new 1968
Camaro was finished by Tim McAmis Race Cars. Joe and the team ran a
career best 6.21@231 mph with the Viper in the 2006 season at
Mission Raceway Park. "The Viper is proof that aerodynamics are
a must in order to run competitively" said Joe, "We put
the exact same motor from the truck into the Viper and have picked
up over two tenths of a second and 10 mph".
The
team also met their goal of winning the WCPMA championship as they
were crowned the 2006 Champion in front of their home town
crowd in Calgary, Alberta.
"It
feels great to win the championship" said Joe, "The team
worked hard all year and the championship is proof".
For
the 2007 race season the PM Motorsports team has received their
brand new Tim McAmis built 1968 Camaro and plan to run the WCPMA Circuit for
2007 as well as attend select IHRA races. The power for the 2007 season is the trusty
BAE 526 cubic inch Hemi. With over 2600 hp Joe and the team hope to
run into the 6.0's this year and defend their West Coast Pro Mod
Association Championship!
