Drag Racing Grand Slam in Spokane
This weekend Joe Delehay and his PM Motorsports team had a Drag
Racing Grand Slam as the team qualified number 1, were awarded for
"Event Low ET" and "Event Top MPH", and won the event.
"We accomplished a lot this weekend" said Joe. Winning the event in
Spokane, Wa and qualifying number 1 has put Delehay and team in the
number 2 spot in the West Coast Pro Mod Points Chase, not too many points
behind the number 1 positioned Tommy Johanns.
"I'm very proud of my team this weekend" said Joe, "Our crew chief
Ken Eisler couldn't make it to the event". With no crew chief,
engine specialist Jason Delehay took over the tuning duties for the
weekend with consultation over the phone with Eisler. "We were short
handed this weekend and still had the field covered by a tenth of a
second" said Delehay. "My son Jason has never tuned the car before",
"But this weekends results are proof he did a good job" smiled Joe,
"It was myself, my son Jason, and Kyle Barg our clutch expert all
weekend"
Not only did the PM Motorsports team have the quickest car in the
Pro Modified field, they also had the most consistent car, running
in the low 6.2 range all weekend. "On Saturday it was a record
breaking 106 degrees and over 5000 feet corrected altitude and we still ran a low 6.2 second pass" said
Delehay.
The weekend couldn't of gone better for Delehay and his PM
Motorsports team who, after qualifying number 1 in front of a packed
crowd, defeated Wayne Hofer in the 1st round of
eliminations, Dennis Radford in the semi-finals, and then defeated
Lee Smith in the Final round of eliminations for the event win.

Do or Die Time for Delehay
Currently sitting third in the West Coast Pro Mod Association
championship points race, Delehay and team are looking at this
weekends event in Spokane as a "Do or Die" situation.
This is the second time the West Coast Pro Mods will be venturing to
Spokane this season as the WCPMA's second event was held here.
"This is a fantastic facility" said Joe, "Earlier this season we
qualified number one with a 6.177 @ 231.36 mph" said Delehay who
hopes to better that performance this weekend.
"We are currently sitting 112 points behind Tommy Johanns" said
Delehay, "We must have a good showing in order to have a chance at
the championship". Delehay and team are looking for a turning point
in their season this weekend after what has seemed to be a season
filled with issues. "We have had alot of little things happen all
season" said Delehay, "After having early exits at almost every
event this season we are looking to change things around and give
Tommy (Johanns) a run for the championship this season".
