Sunday Results
After a career best 6.135 during qualifying Delehay and team went
into eliminations on Sunday with high hopes. "We ran my career best
and the motor died at 5.6 seconds into the run" said Delehay, The
cause of the motor dying was a poor cylinder head ground which broke
during the run. "If that ground didn't break it would of ran a 6.0
second pass at over 235 mph easy" claimed Delehay.
During the first round of eliminations Delehay faced Vern Mills. The
winner of this round was the best driver to recover from tire shake
which in the end was Delehay. "It was a very close race at the
finish line but I was able to recover first".
In the semi-finals Delehay was paired against the current WCPMA
points leader Tommy Johanns. After shaking the tires in the first
round Delehay and his PM Motorsports team were excited to see what
would happen in this round as they thought they had figured what was
wrong. Unfortunately for Delehay and team the car rolled through the
staging beams after Delehay put the car on the two-step after
staging, causing a disqualification which gave the win to the
eventual event winner Tommy Johanns
"Although we are happy with the semi-final finsh we felt we had the
right combo to win the race this weekend" said Delehay.
The PM Motorsports team are already home from Mission and getting
the car ready for the IHRA Rocky Mountain Nationals this weekend in
Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
