Nightfire
Nationals
August
11 - 12
Boise,
Idaho
After what was a weekend of part failure in Calgary
the weekend before the Nightfire Nationals in Boise, Idaho. The PM
Motorsports team was engine-less as of Wednesday before the
Nightfire Nationals as they went through two motors at the Calgary
West Coast Pro Mod Association event. Thanks to Brad Anderson
Enterprises the PM Motorsports team got a block flown in overnight
which arrived at the shop Wednesday night. "We couldn’t miss
the Nightfire Nationals" said driver Joe Delehay, "With
the points being so close missing one event would toss out any
chance of winning the championship". The team worked late into
the night and all day Thursday putting the motor together and
getting the car ready for Boise. "We started the car Thursday
night and then loaded the trailer and left for Boise" said
Delehay.
The team arrived Friday afternoon in Boise just in
time to get the car ready for first round of qualifying Friday
night. All the teams hard work paid off as they ripped off a 6.38 @
226 mph which was good for the number two spot in the eight car
field. The PM Motorsports team had a few problems in the remaining
two qualifying rounds with a blown head gasket in round two, and the
blower leaking in the third round. "If the blower didn’t leak
in the last round we would of run a low 6.30" said crew chief
Ken Eisler, "We lost just over 10 lbs of boost on that run just
before half track".

In

ahead of Delehay in the points. Delehay and Lowe both shook hard but
Lowe was the first to regain traction and defeated Delehay. "We
really wanted to have a better showing in Boise" said Delehay,
"We have to step up our game with two races left in order to
win the Championship".
