Joe
Delehay and his PM Motorsports team had the perfect weekend in their
home town of Calgary, Alberta. Joe and the team gained as many
points as the WCPMA points system can give you last weekend, they
qualified number one, set event top mph and et, re-set the track MPH
record, and went on to win the event infront of the hometown crowd
in Calgary. "To set low ET, top speed, and track record and win
the event was a dream come true for our team. We were licking our
wounds after a disappointing outing in Boise the week before where
we had as fast a car as anyone but didn’t get it done on race
day" said Delehay.

Delehay,
who won this race a year ago, looks at Race City Motorsports park as
a good luck charm as he's won this event two years in a row in his
mission to be the back to back 2006/2007 West Coast Pro Mod
Champion. "I have to give the credit to my crew. They gave me a
race car that was set up for this track perfectly, its very hard to
get these cars down some tracks under power and to accomplish what
we had set out to do, gain as many points as possible in Calgary.
All I had to do was drive (pedal) it properly and get from “A to
B” and fortunately I was able to do that to get the win. "
says Joe.

In
eliminations Delehay had a bye in the first round, and another bye
in the semi-finals as Keith Korecki couldnt make the call. In the
final round of eliminations Delehay took on points rival Dan Vogt.
The final round was very important this weekend as number one in
points at the time Trevor Lowe had mechanical difficulties after
qualifying and couldnt race in eliminations leaving the number one
spot up for grabs between Delehay and Vogt. Delehay was out for
revenge after the first race of the year when Vogt defeated him by a
hole shot then Vogt went on to win the race. Not only did Delehay
defeat Vogt but he won on the hole shot in what was the closest
final round this WCPMA Season. "This weekend we got it done big
time. Dan Vogt beat me in Salt Lake on a hole shot so it was very
satisfying to return that favor in the final round here in front of
our guests, friends and family" said Delehay.

The
points chase comes down to the last race of the year as Trevor Lowe,
Dan Vogt, and Joe Delehay are all with in 200+ points of each other.

Delehay and the team will be heading to the last race of the season
September 1-2 in Billings, Montana in hopes of reaching their goal
of becoming back to back West Coast Pro Mod Champions.
