IHRA
Rocky Mountain Nationals
July
6 - 8
Edmonton,
Alberta

The
2006 West Coast Pro Mod Champion Joe Delehay and his PM Motorsports
team ventured the hour and forty minuete drive north to Castrol
Raceway in Edmonton, Alberta for the IHRA Rocky Mountain Nationals.

The
first round of qualifying on friday afternoon saw Joe drive his 1968
Camaro Z-28 to #11 spot with a 6.333 @ 225.41 mph. "The first
round of qualifying gave us a good idea of what the track conditions
were and what the car likes" said Crew Chief Ken Eisler.

In
the second round of qualifying friday night the PM Motorsports
Camaro had a nice clean pass good for the #12 spot with a 6.299 @
225.37 mph.

Saturday
afternoon saw two more qualifying rounds, in the third round of
qualifying Delehay drove the Camaro to an impressive 6.222 @ 228.31
mph which put the PM Motorsports team in the #8 position. "We
are still learning what this new car like and doesnt" said
Delehay, "We have under 30 passes on the car so far this
season, most drivers get that if not more in pre-season
testing".

Saturday
nights fourth round of qualifying saw amazing performance numbers,
unfortunitly for the PM Motorsports team they couldnt capitalize on
the amazing track conditions at Castrol Raceway. The team had some
minor issues with the car that slowed it down to a 6.274 @ 227.65
mph. After qualifying was complete Delehay was in the #11 spot and
was paired to race Scott Cannon in the first round of eliminations.
"We are very hapy with our qualifing performance" said
Delehay, "If it wasnt for our minor problem in the last round
the car would of ran a low teen in the great conditions
tonight"

In
the first round of elimintions the track was as close to perfect as
possible as the crew at Castrol Raceway did an amazing job prepping
the surface this weekend. Delehay knew he would have to cut a better
light than Cannon and run his quickest of the weekend if Cannon
didnt have issues as Scott Cannon qualified in the #3 position with
a 6.128 @ 233 mph.

Delehay
cut his best light of the weekend (rt: .467) against Cannon (rt:
.528) but the team underestimated the amazing track surface and the
car shook the tires just before the 60 ft marker which gave Cannon
the win. "We had the holeshot against Cannon and we blew
it" said Crew Chief Ken Eisler. "Instead of leaving the
track at 5200 rpm like we did, we should of left around 6000
rpm". If the car didnt shake Delehay would of had to run a 6.18
or better to defeat Cannons 6.126. "If we would of reconized
how good the conditions really were we would of ran about a 6.14 if
not quicker" said Delehay.

Although
the team exited eliminations early they are still happy with their
overal performance as they are using every pass they make as their
testing seasons for next year. "We still have old technology in
the car with an older BAE motor and an old supercharger as out new
supercharger set up is not complete yet to run on our new BAE6
motor" said Delehay.

The
PM Motorsports team was picked the Event Best Appearing Car for the
IHRA race weekend and was awarded a event award on sunday morning.
"SD Enterprises did an amazing job painting the car" said
Delehay. "And with the paint scheme designing by Stu at ID
Motorsport Designs this car is truely amazing as pictures just dont
do it justice".

The
PM Motorsports team is currently preparing for their next event this
weekend July 21-22 at Race City Motorsports Park in the teams
Hometown of Calgary, Alberta. This is the third event of the West
Coast Pro Mod Association 2007 schedule.
